The Datuk Amar Juma’ani Bridge (Sungai Bintangor Bridge) in Kuching has been officially opened to the public, serving as both an important transportation link and a new urban landmark for the state capital. The bridge features a four-lane dual carriageway designed to improve traffic connectivity while supporting future traffic demand.
Architecturally, the bridge is distinguished by its iconic central tower, supported by three massive columns and adorned with intricate carvings. Spanning approximately 108.5 metres across the Sungai Bintangor, the structure is complemented by the nearby Sungai Bintangor Waterfront, enhancing the aesthetic and recreational value of the surrounding area.
The bridge was officially inaugurated on 5 August 2025 and is named in honour of the late Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, the wife of Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Together, the bridge and its surrounding development are expected to become a new attraction in Kuching, providing visitors with a scenic gateway to experience the cultural heritage and traditional lifestyle of nearby Malay villages. The project also includes upgrading and widening the existing two-lane carriageway along Jalan Datuk Ajibah Abol, extending from the Divisional Mosque to the Jalan Hj Mataim junction, thereby improving overall accessibility and traffic flow in the area.
