Nestled halfway up the lush, verdant slopes of Mount Singai, the Catholic Memorial & Pilgrimage Centre (CMPC) serves as a spiritual retreat for pilgrims, hikers, and nature enthusiasts visiting the area.

One of the most meaningful experiences here is the ascent through the 14 Stations of the Cross, which symbolically represents the Passion of Christ. Each station depicts a significant moment along Jesus’ journey to crucifixion, providing visitors with an opportunity for reflection, prayer, and spiritual contemplation.

The journey to the top of Mount Singai is divided into two main sections:
- Staircase Section – A well-constructed stairway leading from the base to the CMPC.
- Trail Section – A natural hiking path that continues from the centre towards the mountain summit.

On average, visitors require about 30 to 40 minutes to reach the pilgrimage centre, and approximately two hours more to reach the mountain summit.

Mount Singai is also home to diverse tropical flora. One of the notable species found in the area is Amorphophallus hewittii, a rare and distinctive plant native to the region’s rainforest ecosystem. Visitors are encouraged to appreciate the natural surroundings while protecting the mountain’s ecological heritage.

Along the hiking route, visitors may notice neatly packed bags of sand and gravel prepared for transportation to the CMPC for construction and maintenance purposes. Volunteers are sometimes welcomed to assist by carrying these materials uphill — a simple yet meaningful act reflecting the spirit of faith, service, and community support associated with the pilgrimage centre.
