Located along Sibu Central Market, directly opposite the express boat passenger terminal, this is Malaysia’s largest indoor market. Established in 1996, the market was developed by combining the former wet market and Lembangan native market into one modern, hygienic shopping complex.

Sibu Central Market is home to more than 1,100 stalls offering a wide variety of products. Visitors can find fresh meat, seafood, and poultry sold by vendors from different ethnic communities, including Iban, Chinese, and Malay traders, reflecting the multicultural character of the region.
One unique local tradition is the sale of live poultry, often wrapped neatly in newspaper tubes — a practical and familiar practice among local buyers.

The market is especially famous for exotic fruits and vegetables native to Borneo. Seasonal favourites such as wild durian, rambutan, and jungle ferns are commonly available.
In addition, many Iban vendors sell jungle produce, traditional herbs, and beautifully crafted handicrafts, including woven baskets and mats that showcase indigenous artistry.
