Bintulu Tua Pek Kong Temple located in the heart of Bintulu stands as one of the town’s oldest and most treasured cultural landmarks. Established in 1878 by early Chinese settlers, the temple has served as a spiritual sanctuary and community hub for over a century.

Dedicated to Tua Pek Kong, the revered God of Prosperity and Protection, the temple reflects the deep faith and resilience of the Chinese immigrants who helped shape Bintulu’s early development. Today, it remains an important place of worship while welcoming visitors who wish to experience its rich heritage and architectural beauty.
Visitors are immediately drawn to its striking Southern Fujian-style architecture. The temple features dragon-adorned rooftops, intricate wood carvings, detailed stonework, and vibrant red-and-gold décor symbolising prosperity and good fortune. Inside, you will find beautifully maintained shrines dedicated not only to Tua Pek Kong, but also to Guanyin (Goddess of Mercy), Guan Di (God of War and Righteousness), and the God of Wealth.

Conveniently situated along Main Bazaar Road in Bintulu town centre, the temple enjoys a scenic setting. Directly opposite lies the spacious Esplanade Bintulu, while the nearby Kemena River — the town’s main river — adds to the tranquil atmosphere. Surrounded by greenery and open spaces, the temple offers a peaceful environment for reflection, photography, and cultural exploration.
